About the Role

Performs routine MRI procedures on a scheduled and emergency basis. Reviews and evaluates requisitions for MR imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining the appropriateness of the procedure given the diagnosis and clinical signs for routine examinations.

Responsibilities

  • Identify patients according to Hospital Policy using two identifiers.
  • Select appropriate equipment and technical parameters to identify pathologic and normal anatomy.
  • Assess patients' and parents' physical and emotional status and ability to respond to instructions; develop a care plan tailored to the patient's specific needs.
  • Explain the examination and answer questions from patients and parents regarding the exam and magnetic field environment.
  • Follow MR QC Exam/Data Integrity workflow expectations.
  • Practice High Reliability Training and consistently provide exceptional care and service.
  • Respond to the uniqueness of each patient, creating a supportive environment for the patient and family.
  • Identify and report equipment malfunctions through the INeedit application.
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining daily operations.
  • Participate in departmental and hospital meetings.
  • Comply with ETU and HIPAA regulations.
  • Practice the BCH 6 Core Values: excellence, innovation, communication, respect, teamwork, and accountability.

Professional Development

  • Complete all required competencies and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain up-to-date licensure, certification, and registration in the departmental file.
  • Further professional education and maintain knowledge of current regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.

Pay

The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting. Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
