MRI Technologist - Per Diem
About the role
University Radiology, the largest provider of subspecialty radiology and teleradiology services in New Jersey, comprises over 200 board‑certified radiologists with advanced U.S.‑based training across all modalities and subspecialties. In operation for more than 60 years, the group staffs, manages, and provides preliminary and final subspecialty interpretations for hospitals, imaging centers, and other medical facilities, and serves as the academic radiology faculty at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Physicians interpret over 2.1 million radiology procedures annually.
As an MRI Technologist at University Radiology, you will play an important role in supporting accurate diagnoses through high‑quality magnetic resonance imaging. You will work directly with patients throughout their imaging appointments, ensuring they feel informed, comfortable, and well cared for. In collaboration with radiologists and other clinical team members, you will help deliver an efficient, safe, and positive imaging experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform MRI examinations in accordance with established protocols and physician orders.
- Prepare and position patients to obtain clear, diagnostic‑quality images.
- Conduct thorough MRI safety screenings and follow all applicable safety procedures.
- Explain imaging procedures to patients and provide reassurance throughout the exam.
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to departmental quality standards.
- Communicate effectively with radiologists and clinical staff to support smooth daily operations.
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized imaging environment.
Requirements
- ARRT(MR) certification.
- Five or more years of MR work experience.
- High‑field magnet experience required.
- GE high‑field magnet experience preferred.
- Ability to perform duties in or near areas containing specialized imaging equipment and adhere to all department and facility safety protocols.
Schedule
- Location: East Brunswick, NJ
- Employment type: Per diem
- Schedule: Every other Saturday
- Hours: 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay
$55 per hour
