Per Diem Fertility Procedure Nurse

About the Role

The Per Diem Fertility Procedure Nurse plays a vital role in supporting patients through their fertility journey by delivering exceptional care in the surgical suite. This position is ideal for compassionate, detail-oriented individuals who excel in fast-paced environments and want to make a meaningful difference. As a Per Diem Fertility Procedure Nurse, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide pre-, intra-, and post-operative care while ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and comfort.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for procedures, perform preoperative assessment, give discharge instructions, and start IV.
• Recover patients after general anesthesia and monitored anesthesia care. Reinforce discharge instructions.
• Deliver direct patient care during pre-, intra-, and post-operative phases in the surgical suite.
• Accurately document patient care and procedures in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Clearly communicate post-operative instructions to patients and families.
• Oversee surgical suite operations, ensuring cleanliness, sterility, and equipment functionality.
• Adhere to and enforce aseptic techniques, quality control measures, and safety standards.
• Initiate emergency protocols as needed and coordinate equipment repairs.
• Mentor new staff and provide updates on any protocol changes.
• Collaborate with the Surgery Manager to assess equipment and supply needs.
• Monitor patient conditions and communicate changes to the surgical team.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Position Requirements

• Education & Licensure: Completion of either accredited Practical Nursing program or an accredited nursing program (Associate’s Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing). Active LPN license issued by the Michigan Board of Nursing or Active RN license issued by the Michigan State Board of Nursing. Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Experience: Open to new graduate RN applicants. Minimum of 1-2 years' experience as an RN (preferred).
• Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a diverse and fast-paced environment. Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Rate: $31.00-$40.00 per hour (final offers based on experience, skills, and qualifications). Benefits: While this is a per diem position, Pinnacle Fertility offers competitive compensation and the opportunity to work with a dynamic, patient-focused team.
