Per Diem ED Technician - Emergency Department - Night Shift

About the Role

At NewYork-Presbyterian Queens, ED Technicians thrive as invaluable care providers in our Level I Trauma Center, a designated 911 receiving hospital. As an ED Technician, you will provide compassionate basic patient care, assist with daily living activities, and collect essential data under the direction of a Registered Nurse. This is a Per Diem Night Shift position (7 pm to 8:15 am) at NYP/Queens Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate basic patient care and assist with daily living activities.
• Collect data elements such as vital signs, telemetry surveillance, EKGs, and glucose by finger stick.
• Communicate observations and information to the Registered Nurse.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment for patients.
• Work collaboratively as part of a team to raise the bar for patient care.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalency.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required prior to start date.
• At least one (1) year of experience as an EKG Technician, Nursing Attendant, or equivalent.
• Certification in one of the following: EKG/Arrhythmia certificate, Medical technician certificate, EMT/Paramedic certificate.
• Must achieve competency in all performance functions (e.g., Telemetry, phlebotomy) within the probationary period.

Pay

Salary Range: $36.01/Hourly
