Emergency Medical Technician, Basic (Per Diem, Night Shift)
About the role
Nestled on the Central California Coast, Adventist Health Sierra Vista has been providing care to our community since 1959. Our 162-bed acute care facility includes a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and county-designated trauma center.
Responsibilities
- Assists in providing direct, and in-direct patient care under direction of appropriate personnel or leadership (e.g. registered nurses and providers).
- Provides individualized care plan for patient presentation within the EMT scope of practice.
- Collections, records and communicates basic patient data, current and changing status as needed.
- Cleans, inspects, assembles and sterilizes trays and equipment in accordance with established departmental procedures.
- Takes immediate and appropriate action upon occurrence of emergency situation within job description and policies.
- Participates in continuing/advanced education which demonstrates employee commitment to improving capabilities.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Education and Work Experience: High School Education/GED or equivalent.
- Licenses/Certifications: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification: Required; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required; Facility Specific License/Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required.

Pay
The estimated base pay for this position is $25.00 to $27.04. Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
