About the role

Nestled on the Central California Coast, Adventist Health Sierra Vista has been providing care to our community since 1959. Our 162-bed acute care facility includes a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and county-designated trauma center.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in providing direct, and in-direct patient care under direction of appropriate personnel or leadership (e.g. registered nurses and providers).
  • Provides individualized care plan for patient presentation within the EMT scope of practice.
  • Collections, records and communicates basic patient data, current and changing status as needed.
  • Cleans, inspects, assembles and sterilizes trays and equipment in accordance with established departmental procedures.
  • Takes immediate and appropriate action upon occurrence of emergency situation within job description and policies.
  • Participates in continuing/advanced education which demonstrates employee commitment to improving capabilities.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Education and Work Experience: High School Education/GED or equivalent.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification: Required; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required; Facility Specific License/Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required.

Pay

The estimated base pay for this position is $25.00 to $27.04. Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
