About the Role
The incumbent is responsible for delivering social services, including psychosocial evaluation and treatment, advocacy, teaching, referrals to community services, and assisting as needed with discharge planning. Participates in case coverage and other necessary support for other social workers in the Department of Clinical Social Work / Care Coordination. Participates in formal and informal teaching, including supervision of social work graduate students and in-service education for nurses, nursing students, medical residents, fellows, interns, and ancillary staff.
Responsibilities
- Deliver social services, including psychosocial evaluation and treatment
- Provide advocacy and teaching to patients and families
- Make referrals to community services
- Assist with discharge planning
- Participate in case coverage and support for other social workers
- Engage in formal and informal teaching, including supervision of social work graduate students
- Provide in-service education for nurses, nursing students, medical residents, fellows, interns, and ancillary staff
Requirements
Clin Social Worker II
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to interpret and implement all applicable standards and regulations such as The Joint Commission, DHS, and the Child Abuse Registry
- Master's Degree in Social Work
- Knowledge of and ability to work within a complex health care system
- Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Clin Social Worker III
- Skills to interpret and implement hospital, JCAHO, Health Department, and Child Abuse Registry standards and regulations
- Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
- Demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
- Knowledge of and ability to work within a complex health care system
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Current Clinical Social Work License issued by the Board of Behavioral Sciences
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Preferred Qualifications
Clin Social Worker II
- Bilingual Spanish skills to communicate effectively with patients and families
- Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms
Clin Social Worker III
- Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms
- Currently possess an ASW License
