Clinical Social Worker - Per Diem Days
About the role
The MSW will interview and evaluate patients and family members to identify social, emotional, and economic factors affecting their healthcare. They will develop and implement a social work treatment plan, select and utilize community resources, make referrals, and coordinate with other professionals or agencies. Additionally, they will provide psycho-social therapy and participate in multidisciplinary health team conferences.
Responsibilities
- Interviews and evaluates patients and family members to assess social, emotional, and economic factors impacting their healthcare
- Develops and implements a social work treatment plan
- Selects and utilizes community resources as part of the treatment plan
- Makes referrals to and coordinates with other professional disciplines or agencies
- Provides psycho-social therapy using various treatment methods
- Participates in multidisciplinary health team conferences to formulate overall patient care plans
- Aids in the coordination of the discharge plan
Requirements
- Demonstrated skill in patient assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal
- Familiarity with regulatory agency requirements, policies, and protocols
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree from an Accredited School of Social Work
- Registered as an Associate Clinical Social Worker issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science (preferred)
- Evidence of continuing education
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting preferred
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to reporting of child/elder abuse, substance use/abuse, child protective custody, adoptions, and other legal requirements
Skills
- Basic Life Support (BLS) card from American Heart Association
- LA City fire card within 6 months of employment

$46.00 per hour
Schedule
Hours are flexible but typically include weekdays.
