About the role

Join the Spiritual Care team at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, a 591-bed hospital affiliated with Weill Cornell Medical College, where we are dedicated to providing the highest quality, most compassionate care to patients. This is a per-diem position with a rotating shift schedule including weekends and holidays, located at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.

The Chaplain ministers to patients, their families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual care and support to patients, families, and hospital staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Enrollment in or completion of one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE). Anyone hired without 4 completed units of CPE will be required to complete them to maintain employment.
• If ordained, must be in good standing with the ordaining religious body, evidenced by official endorsement or letter of good standing from a denominational official.

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate theological education or Master's degree in a related field.
• Four units of ACPE (Association for Clinical Pastoral Education).
• Actively working toward certification by a certifying body recognized by the Spiritual Care Collaborative such as APC (Association for Professional Chaplains), NAJC (National Association of Jewish Chaplains), etc., or appropriate equivalency approved by the corporate Director of Pastoral Care & Education.

Pay

Salary Range: $40.00/hour.

Schedule

Per-diem rotating shift schedule including weekends and holidays.

All roles require on-site presence, so employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP. NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.
