About the role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Per Diem Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (FGP) - Manhattan, Float. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring and coordinating delivery of prescribed pulmonary function testing services through direct performance of laboratory studies and supervision of pulmonary function laboratory staff.

Responsibilities

• Performs Pulmonary Function Testing, including FVL, FVC, Lung Volumes, DLCO, MVV as required.
• Checks and validates physician order for testing procedure.
• Performs Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing.
• Maintains testing equipment.
• Generates appropriate paperwork to permit the interpretation of Pulmonary Function tests.
• Performs Methacholine Challenges.
• Efficiently schedules patients.
• Reviews schedule with Pharmacy to ensure optimal utilization of Provocholine.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or equivalent in respiratory care as recognized by the New York State Board for Respiratory Therapy.
• New York State Registered Respiratory Therapist license or Respiratory Therapist Technician license.
• Certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (CRT), with CPFT specialty credential within a year of hire.
• Computer competency, including basic understanding of, and ability to work with, Microsoft Windows based pulmonary function software programs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Required Licenses: Cert Pulmon Func Tech (CPFT), Respiratory Therapy Tech-NYS, Resp Thrpst License-NYS, Natl Respiratory Therapy Reg.

Pay

The salary range for the role is $64.46–$65.00 per hour. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
