About the Role
A Patient Access Services Representative serves as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service in a hospital setting. This role involves working in a high-volume clinical environment, ensuring accurate patient registration, insurance verification, and financial interaction to support quality patient care and organizational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients, verify demographics and insurance, and process registration efficiently and compassionately.
- Collect financial liabilities, assist with financial counseling, and ensure documentation accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with clinical teams to optimize patient flow and satisfaction.
- Use multiple systems to streamline intake, record-keeping, and authorization processes.
- Discuss financial responsibilities with patients, including payments and assistance programs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience in patient financial services or customer service preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Tech-savvy with office software proficiency.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks independently in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as CRCR or CHAA.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
