The Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) – Information Technology & Merger Integration team at Alvarez & Marsal Private Equity is expanding. This team serves upper middle market and large cap private equity firms, focusing on improving operating results at their portfolio companies. About the role
We are looking for a Senior Associate to join our team. You will be part of a team delivering large, complex client engagements that identify, design, and implement creative business and technology solutions for private equity clients and their portfolio companies. Typical engagements include pre-acquisition IT diligence, merger integration and carve-out execution, and post-deal performance improvement.
Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-acquisition IT diligence, focusing on ERP, WMS, CRM, IT infrastructure, enterprise architecture, software development lifecycle, budgetary analysis, and organizational/personnel assessment.
- Execute merger integration and carve-out projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Drive performance improvement initiatives in key areas such as ERP, back office, supply chain, BI/reporting integration, customer and channel management.
- Manage day-to-day relationships to ensure exceptional performance and adjust strategies or personnel as needed.
- Design and supervise the execution of change/communications strategies, both internally and externally.
- Develop and implement IT performance improvement and cost reduction strategies.
Requirements
- 3-6 years of professional consulting or relevant industry experience, with at least 3 years specializing in systems implementations, merger integration, business transformation, and change management.
- Deep functional expertise in IT pre-acquisition diligence, merger integration, business/IT transformation program/project management, supply chain, and finance/accounting.
- Proven writing skills and ability to produce polished client-facing documents.
- Excellent fact-gathering and analytical skills, including business process mapping and quantitative analysis.
- Experience designing and supervising the execution of change/communications strategies.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Flexibility to travel at least 75% of the time.

- Strong collaboration and change management skills to lead improvements in key business functions.
- Knowledge of IT assessment and strategy development, solution architecture, enterprise architecture, and infrastructure.
- Experience in IT performance improvement and cost reduction.
- Ability to write clearly and professionally for client-facing documents.
- Strong analytical skills, including business process mapping and quantitative analysis.
- Experience in designing and supervising the execution of change/communications strategies.

Benefits
The salary range is $100,000 - $150,000 annually, dependent on several variables including education, experience, skills, and geography. Pay
$100,000 - $150,000 annually, dependent on experience and other factors.
