PEPI: Director - Commercial Due Diligence

The Private Equity Performance Improvement Services (PEPI) team focuses on helping private equity firms improve their portfolio company operations. This role involves leading commercial due diligence engagements, managing client interactions, and delivering investment-ready insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the engagement from kickoff to final IC read-out
- Frame diligence scope, hypotheses, and prioritize risks
- Lead day-to-day client interaction with PE deal teams
- Orchestrate managers and workstreams into a cohesive storyline
- Make judgment calls on trade-offs, depth vs. speed, and risk emphasis
- Ensure outputs are investment-committee ready
- Coach managers on judgment, synthesis, and leadership
Qualifications
- MBA from a top-tier business school
- 8+ years of experience, including 2+ years in consulting or CDD
- Deep understanding of PE decision-making and diligence dynamics
- Strong executive presence and client credibility

Clients view the Director as the deal’s thought partner, consistently delivering sharp, decisive commercial views, and building repeat engagement momentum.
Pay
The salary range is $150,000-$225,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program based on individual and firm performance.
