About the role
This position provides administrative support to the Peoria Police Department’s Training Unit. The Training Unit is responsible for coordinating and delivering training to sworn and civilian personnel, including new-hire academies, in-service training, and specialized courses.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate training schedules, facilities, and instructor assignments.
- Prepare and distribute training materials, rosters, and certificates.
- Maintain training records in compliance with Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training (AZPOST) requirements.
- Process training-related invoices, purchase orders, and reimbursements.
- Assist with the preparation of training reports and presentations for department leadership.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding training inquiries.
- Perform general office duties, including answering phones, filing, and data entry.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field preferred.
- Two years of administrative experience, preferably in a law enforcement or municipal government setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
