Key Responsibilities

  • Own PEO administration and data cleanliness: maintain accurate employee records and ensure consistency across the PEO, benefits, payroll, and internal systems.
  • Run end-to-end onboarding: coordinate offers-to-start workflows in partnership with IT and Talent, collect required documentation, coordinate payroll and benefits enrollment, and ensure a welcoming, high-quality Day 1 experience and smooth start.
  • Run end-to-end offboarding: manage terminations and resignations with rigor and empathy, including final pay coordination, benefit end dates/COBRA, access removals coordination, and exit process documentation.
  • Administer benefits: manage employee enrollment changes, qualifying life events, open enrollment planning support, and ongoing employee support for benefits questions.
  • Support payroll operations: ensure correct inputs, changes, and approvals are captured on time; reconcile discrepancies; and coordinate with the PEO and Finance to resolve issues quickly.
  • Create and maintain SOPs: document repeatable processes for onboarding, offboarding, employee changes, benefits, payroll inputs, and policy updates so we can scale without fragility.
  • Identify gaps, propose improvements, and implement lightweight automations that reduce manual work and prevent errors.
  • Be the point person for employee support: serve as a go-to resource for day-to-day questions, respond quickly and clearly, flag patterns or risks early, and help leaders navigate HR processes appropriately.

Qualifications

  • 2–5+ years of experience in HR operations, People Ops, or HR generalist roles, ideally in a fast-moving company.
  • Extremely detail oriented: you catch issues before they become problems, and you keep systems clean over time.
  • Strong business partnering instincts: you can connect HR operations work to business outcomes and team effectiveness.
  • Experience working with a PEO and supporting benefits and payroll processes (or demonstrated ability to learn quickly and own them end-to-end).
  • Comfortable writing clear, practical policies and maintaining a lightweight company handbook.
  • Working knowledge of HR compliance basics and strong judgment with sensitive information.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally (Finance, Legal, Security, IT) and keep stakeholders aligned.
  • Strong written and verbal communication: you are clear, responsive, and thoughtful.
  • High integrity and discretion with confidential employee data.
