About the role
Under minimal direction, acts as department lead in performing duties necessary to the delivery of best practice HR strategies and programs within their area of expertise.
Responsibilities
- Build relationships with business leaders to offer thought leadership on organizational and people-related strategy and execution.
- Understand the business strategy and identify opportunities to increase alignment with the strategy by helping business leaders identify, prioritize and build organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures and processes.
- Diagnose gaps between current and desired organization performance and deploy actions to resolve gaps, including organization redesign, process change, coaching and training.
- Analyze workforce trends to model and forecast future labor requirements to support senior leaders in workforce planning and succession management.
- Review key business performance targets and their related talent implications with business leaders.
- Review and benchmark the internal and external environment to identify new opportunities for HR and to improve HR policies and initiatives.
- Identify and drive the sharing of best practices across functions to facilitate continuous improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Clear understanding of the link between talent and other HR initiatives and business strategy.
- Deep knowledge of HR policies, processes (e.g., workforce planning and talent management), and talent management practices.
- Ability to identify new ways for HR to support the business strategy and develop clear, actionable steps in support of the overall business strategy.
- Ability to synthesize large quantities of quantitative and qualitative data, recognize trends, tie back to business priorities and develop recommendations based on data analysis.
- Strong partnership skills and the ability to influence aligned business unit or functional leader.
- Effective team player and networker.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in a related function.
- Minimum Experience: Five (5) years directly related experience.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong organization, planning, human relations, analytical, and communication skills.

Schedule
Location Details: The preferred location for this position is Memphis, TN. However, we will consider candidates based elsewhere within the United States (excluding Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. territories). Candidates residing within 50 miles of a FedEx campus will be required to work on-site at a FedEx location several times per week.
