Position Summary
As a People Partner – Transportation, you will serve as a trusted partner to transportation and logistics leaders, associates, and cross-functional teams. In this role, you will help drive people strategies that support business priorities, operational excellence, associate engagement, compliance, and a strong workplace culture.
What you'll do
- Partner with transportation and logistics leaders to understand business priorities and translate them into people strategies that support facility and operational goals, including productivity, quality, safety, staffing, retention, and associate engagement.
- Provide guidance and coaching to leaders and associates on HR policies, associate relations, performance management, workplace concerns, talent decisions, and day-to-day people matters.
- Oversee and support HR-related processes, including hiring, transfers, terminations, payroll, benefits, associate relations programs, training completion, and employment-related concerns for applicants, associates, and managers.
- Investigate and help resolve associate, customer, and supplier concerns by using sound judgment, consulting appropriate partners when needed, and ensuring timely and consistent follow-up.
- Ensure compliance with company HR policies and applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations by maintaining accurate and confidential HR records, supporting HR systems and applications, and advising leaders on HR-related issues.
- Analyze people data and operational trends to identify opportunities, recommend solutions, and support HR business decisions related to staffing, turnover, engagement, attendance, compliance, and workforce planning.
- Support leaders in supervising, developing, and engaging associates by identifying training and development needs, creating opportunities for learning and growth, providing feedback, and promoting accountability.
- Coverage of job-related activities and assignments by building relationships with key stakeholders, supporting business plans and initiatives, communicating goals and objectives, measuring progress, and addressing improvement opportunities.
- Monitor and support compliance with logistics and company quality, safety, policy, procedure, and directive requirements by developing, distributing, and maintaining procedures, documentation, and related support materials.
- Champion company-sponsored programs, events, community involvement, and charitable activities by serving as a local community liaison and promoting participation among associates, customers, and community partners.
- Model company values, standards of ethics and integrity, and a belonging mindset by supporting the Open Door Policy, promoting inclusion, and providing direction on applying company expectations in daily business practices.
- Demonstrate adaptability and continuous learning by supporting operational changes, refining HR processes, and helping leaders and associates navigate evolving business needs.
What you’ll bring
- Experience in human resources, people partnership, associate relations, operations leadership, transportation, logistics, supply chain, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment policies, compliance requirements, associate relations, performance management, and workforce planning.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with individuals and groups, verbally and in writing, including associates, leaders, customers, suppliers, and community partners.
- Sound judgment and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate concerns, evaluate information, consult with partners, and recommend practical business solutions.
- Ability to build trusted relationships with leaders, associates, cross-functional partners, and external stakeholders while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Experience using data, reporting, and business insights to identify trends, measure progress, support decisions, and drive continuous improvement.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced transportation or logistics environment while remaining organized, responsive, and adaptable.
- Leadership capability, including coaching, mentoring, providing feedback, supporting development, building accountability, and promoting a positive associate experience.
- Understanding of safety, quality, compliance, and operational standards in a logistics, transportation, distribution, or similar environment.

Additional Compensation
The annual salary range for this position is $84,000.00 - $126,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location), Stock.
Minimum Qualifications
- Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no minimum qualifications.
- Bachelor's Degree in business or a related field and 2 years HR Generalist experience (e.g., payroll, workers compensation, benefits) with at least one year supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing employees; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees.
- OR 1 year experience as a Walmart Logistics Human Resources Area Manager or Walmart Human Resources Office Manager supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing associates; managing associate workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of associates, including dealing with employment compensation/payroll processing, employee relations, recruiting/staffing, organizational planning, and/or training and development programs.
- OR 3 years experience supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing employees, managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees including one year of experience managing human resource processes (e.g., staffing, payroll, workers compensation, benefits).
Preferred Qualifications
- Both Bachelor's Degree in a related field (e.g., Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Financial Management, Production/Operations Management, Human Resources); and 3 years experience supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing employees, managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees., Developing and facilitating training programs experience, Human resources or training professional certifications (e.g., PHR/SPHR, ASTD).
