People Operations Specialist

About The Role

The role owns core People Operations processes, managing HRIS data, onboarding workflows, and benefits administration for a growing distributed team. The People Operations Specialist acts as the first point of contact for employee inquiries, ensuring smooth execution of daily HR operations and compliance across multiple states.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end onboarding and offboarding workflows for all employees, ensuring a seamless experience
• Administer benefits programs, leave of absence requests, and payroll inputs within the HRIS platform
• Maintain accurate employee data and records while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
• Partner with finance and payroll teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate monthly processing
• Update and maintain internal documentation, employee handbooks, and standard operating procedures
• Support continuous improvement projects for People Operations tools and automation workflows

What We Are Looking For

• 2-4 years of experience in human resources or people operations within a fast-paced environment
• Hands-on experience with modern HRIS and payroll systems such as Rippling, Gusto, or Workday
• Familiarity with US employment compliance, multi-state payroll, and benefits administration
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills handling sensitive data with discretion
• Bonus: Experience scaling operations in a remote-first or hybrid technology company
