About the Role
The People Operations Specialist plays a pivotal role in supporting the transformation of the People Department by optimizing HR processes and supporting the Human Resource Information System (HRIS - UKG Ready). This position evolves from manual data entry to strategic, user-focused responsibilities, ensuring effective HRIS utilization, data integrity, and enhanced employee experience. The role collaborates on special projects to automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency, requiring a blend of technical skills and deep People Operations knowledge.
This is a hybrid position, with work conducted both off-site and onsite based on business needs.
Responsibilities
- Support the Manager, People Operations in day-to-day maintenance of the HRIS (UKG Ready).
- Assist in migrating existing HR data and troubleshooting system errors.
- Participate in regular system audits.
- Work with the Manager, People Operations to map existing HR processes for automation and self-service opportunities.
- Conduct workflow analyses for HR-related processes.
- Collaborate with People Partner team and People Managers to update or create SOPs based on new system functionalities.
- Validate automated transactional changes such as new hires, terminations, and promotions.
- Perform mass data uploads under guidance and ensure compliance with data security and privacy guidelines.
- Support key activities related to HR Analytics tools and reporting capabilities, including job aids and knowledge base articles.
- Assist in developing training content and resources for UKG Ready, including basic navigation and HR programs (e.g., performance evaluations).
- Provide first-level assistance to employees for self-service portals and other HRIS features.
- Assist in testing and QA processes for HRIS upgrades, optimization, and enhancements.
- Support the People Operations Manager in establishing governance protocols for HR tools and technologies.
- Document system configurations, change management processes, and audit trails.
- Support other People team members in reporting and data requirements for compliance, such as EEO-4 reporting, Joint Commission Survey Audit Readiness, and HRSA compliance.
- Perform other duties as needed to support the organization’s vision, mission, and values.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
- 2 years of experience in an HR Operations or related role (required).
- Experience processing HR workflow transactions within enterprise HRIS/ATS systems at scale (preferred).
- HRCI or SHRM certification (preferred).
Skills
- Knowledge of Human Resources concepts, practices, policies, and procedures.
- Understanding of HR data compliance and governance.
- Familiarity with federal and state laws, rules, and regulations regarding benefit programs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience with HRIS/ATS systems and data management.
