This position supports the Day shift at the Memphis, TN (MEM) Hub and is not remote. Employees will be required to work at the FedEx location five days a week.

About the role

The People Operations Partner leads all HR activities for assigned facilities and/or teams, drives related projects, and ensures compliance with employment laws, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Apply HR practices, guidelines, and regulations to monitor and advise on compliance with employment laws, policies, and processes.
  • Conduct timely investigations on employee relations issues and provide appropriate recommendations.
  • Advise management and respond to employee inquiries.
  • Engage with all levels of internal customers in assigned facilities for activities, meetings, special events, and issue resolution.
  • Lead full-cycle staffing development and execution, including sourcing, recruiting, affirmative action efforts, pre-employment screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Partner with management to develop programs supporting business objectives, corporate initiatives, and individual development.
  • Provide guidance, training, and best practices to team members.
  • Collaborate with operational partners to develop strategic plans reducing voluntary turnover and increasing employee engagement.
  • Participate in retention/engagement events and compliance activities, monitoring action plans as assigned.
  • Provide pay review recommendations and guidance to managers on pay guidelines.
  • May work at multiple locations, requiring travel based on assignments.
  • May participate in projects such as the annual merit process, delivering guidance to managers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, a high school diploma/GED with two (2) years of HR Generalist or employee relations experience plus an additional four (4) years of relevant experience may be accepted.
  • Two (2) years of professional HR experience in HR Generalist, employee relations, talent acquisition, or a related area.
  • Working knowledge of state and federal employment laws.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for explaining complex or confidential information.
  • Time management and organizational skills to manage multiple projects, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines.
  • Presentation skills to facilitate training or informational sessions.
  • Ability to interact effectively with employees and anticipate/identify problems using sound judgment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
  • Flexibility to work day, evening, or overnight hours as needed.
  • Multilingual communication skills may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting a Day shift operation in a hub or similar environment.
