People Operations Generalist

Stord manages over $10 billion of commerce annually through its fulfillment, warehousing, transportation, and operator-built software suite including OMS, Pre- and Post-Purchase, and WMS platforms.
The People Operations Generalist is the local on-the-ground point of contact for all HR responsibilities at their assigned local fulfillment center. The Generalist creates a positive, engaging employee experience by serving as a people advocate on the ground for the People team. The Generalist works closely with the 1P People Team to ensure each facility promotes the same Stord culture and employee experience while adjusting to the challenges and opportunities of a startup environment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the main HR contact and employee advocate for their assigned fulfillment center location, offering daily on-site assistance with all HR questions, issues, and concerns (including background checks, new hire orientation, overseeing training, servicing requests, people advocacy, morale-boosting activities, and programs).
- Work with the 1P People Team to locally organize ideas on issues, develop thorough execution plans, and drive successful implementation consistent with other locations.
- Partner with the 1P People Team to drive best-in-class programs for warehouse employee experience, setting Stord apart from others.
- Gauge employee engagement and facilitate discussions around opportunities for improvement, collaborating with warehouse managers and the Employee Experience team for ongoing changes to existing programs and new implementations.
- Champion, execute, and monitor contributions that develop and sustain a workplace reflecting Stord’s values and culture.
- Collaborate with the 1P People Team to develop plans promoting an inclusive, engaging, and energizing environment where associates can thrive.
- Continuously analyze people data and understand trends to provide proactive engagement opportunities and solutions supporting business objectives, policy adherence, and cultural values.
- Develop strong working relationships with key leaders at warehouses to facilitate a positive work environment and drive continuous improvement.
- Coach and advise managers on sensitive work-related issues, including conflict resolution, company policy interpretation, culture and values, leave accommodations, and other employment-related topics.
- Advise managers on best practices and recommended approaches for leveraging tools and people processes to maximize employee performance, organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, and legal compliance.
Requirements
- 3+ years of human resource experience or a blend of operations and HR.
- Experience supporting hourly employee client groups.
- Experience in retail, call center, distribution center, or manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency with HRIS Systems.
Qualifications
- A completed Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university (bonus).
- Understanding of daily HR tasks associated with warehouse associates, including background checks, onsite training, HR questions, performance/attendance issues, and general wellbeing of associates (bonus).
