People and Culture Specialist - Onboarding/Offboarding

About the Opportunity
The People and Culture Specialist - Onboarding/Offboarding is responsible for managing the entire employee transition experience from onboarding through offboarding. This role ensures consistent, organized, and professional processes supporting new hires and departing employees. By coordinating across departments and leadership, the position facilitates operational efficiency and supports the employee lifecycle in a multi-state environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage onboarding from offer acceptance through the first 90 days
- Act as primary contact for new hires during onboarding and orientation
- Collapse onboarding schedules, sessions, documentation, and first-day logistics
- Collaborate with Learning & Development, IT, Operations, Payroll, and leadership for onboarding readiness
- Oversee offboarding processes including documentation, system access removal, and equipment return
- Conduct and track exit and stay interviews; analyze trends
- Develop and maintain onboarding/offboarding SOPs, workflows, and tracking tools
- Maintain organized records and reporting dashboards
- Identify and recommend improvements to onboarding/offboarding processes
- Support coordination of internal employee transitions and People & Culture initiatives
- Affiliate with leadership and cross-functional teams for effective employee transition management
- Exercise judgment on routine matters and escalate policy or compliance concerns
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information
- Perform additional duties as assigned by People & Culture Leadership
- Work remotely with a reliable internet connection and appropriate workstation
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred in related field
- Minimum four years experience in onboarding, offboarding, HR coordination, or similar
- Experience managing onboarding/offboarding with multiple stakeholders
- PREFERRED experience in legal, professional services, or multi-state organizations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, Zoom, and HRIS/onboarding systems
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality in handling sensitive information
Pay Range and Compensation Package
The pay range and compensation package for this role will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
