About the role
EY's National Tax and EY EDGE practices consist of teams providing specific tax technical services to US and global clients. The EY EDGE team specializes in delivering exceptional service and growth engine capabilities in a technical environment, distinguishing EY in the market. The Global Payroll Operate practice focuses on helping clients manage global payroll needs efficiently and responsibly across 150+ countries.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end US payroll service delivery with a strong focus on client satisfaction and operational excellence.
- Oversee implementation of new clients, payroll processing activities, manage resources, and ensure performance against client-defined KPIs.
- Support the project management of system enhancements, new service rollouts, and client-driven initiatives.
- Contribute to continuous innovation by helping develop next-generation payroll solutions and improving project delivery tools.
Requirements
- US Payroll process knowledge (including implementation and recurring payroll operations).
- Working knowledge of leading software like SAP, ADP global view, Paychex, Paylocity, MasterTax etc.
- Implementation experience of large projects with several stakeholders.
- HR, treasury and/or accounting experience.
- Create solutions and processes from scratch.
- Juggling projects and priorities as per agreed deadlines and escalations.
- Testing management skills.
- Data conversion reconciliation experience.
- Strong analytical skills, problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
- Project management skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and relevant post-graduate qualification, preferably with an emphasis in Sciences, MIS, Finance or Accounting.
- 5-7 years of US payroll implementation; end to end payroll processing and payroll delivery management.
- 10+ years of US payroll processing and compliance experience.
- CPA and/or CPP is mandatory.
- US Payroll implementation and project management experience.
- Strong numbers acumen, including analytical abilities and proficient skills in Excel, MS Access, SQL Queries, or other leading data analytics tools in the market.
- Working knowledge of GL reconciliation.
- Working knowledge of Treasury functions.
- Payroll consulting experience as a senior functional consultant, testing lead and /or project manager for medium to large payroll projects.
- Prior experience with client facing service industry.
- Ready to work flexible schedule as per client requirements.

Benefits
The base salary range for this role in all geographic locations in the US is $103,600 to $189,900. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $124,300 to $215,800. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.
Schedule
Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.

Pay
The base salary range for this role in all geographic locations in the US is $103,600 to $189,900. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $124,300 to $215,800. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.
