The company provides powerline and substation construction and maintenance services across various utility markets and is experiencing significant growth.

About the role

The People Administrator supports day‑to‑day People Operations functions across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, data entry, compliance documentation, employee record management, testing coordination, employment verifications, and off‑boarding processes. The role ensures accuracy, consistency, and compliance while collaborating with regional teams and internal stakeholders. The position may report out of Heber or Provo after a training period in Heber.

Responsibilities

  • Enter and update employee information in People systems, including new hires, status changes, terminations, and employment verifications.
  • Maintain digital employee files using standardized naming conventions and retention policies.
  • Conduct QA/QC reviews of onboarding packets, change forms, and personnel documentation to ensure compliance with SOPs and legal requirements.
  • Track and escalate missing or incomplete documentation prior to payroll or compliance deadlines.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by maintaining organized, audit‑ready records.
  • Process employment‑related documentation requests such as VOEs, wage audits, unemployment claims, garnishments, and other compliance inquiries.
  • Generate reports to support People Operations initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Process and validate new‑hire documentation, coordinate pre‑employment drug and alcohol testing, and manage termination records, benefit removals, required notices, and record archiving.
  • Support I‑9 verification tracking and documentation audits.
  • Serve as an administrative point of contact for assigned regions, departments, or internal stakeholders; respond to documentation and process inquiries.
  • Provide cross‑regional backup support during high‑volume periods.
  • Identify recurring documentation or process issues and communicate improvement opportunities to leadership.
  • Participate in administrative projects, system updates, and process‑improvement initiatives.
  • Support payroll processing by ensuring employee data is accurate, complete, and updated; partner with payroll and People Operations to resolve discrepancies.

Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of People principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience managing calendars, meetings, tasks, and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with People software and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) is a plus.

Physical demands

  • Use hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
  • Communicate effectively in person, by phone, and electronically.
  • Stand and walk occasionally throughout the workday.
  • Reach with hands and arms.

  • Read printed documents and view information on computer screens.
