Responsibilities
- Sets up files for new applications
- Data entry of new application information
- Determines eligibility for and calculates monthly benefits of members
- Communicates with members through writing & phone calls
- Prepares meeting reports for the Board of Trustees
- Processes pension checks, including the stuffing of envelopes, posting, and printing manual checks
Qualifications
- Excellent customer service skills
- Be detail oriented with good mathematical and analytical skills
- Be able to work well in a team environment
- Have a customer satisfaction focus and team-oriented style
- Have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (verbal/written)
- Have proven problem solving ability
- Have good multitasking, organizational, and time management skills
- Be proficient in Excel and Word
Education and/or Experience
- A high school diploma or GED and some college and/or job-related experience
Work Environment
- The position operates in an office/clerical setting, using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines, etc.
- The department can be fast paced.
- Must be able to multi-task.
- Must be detailed oriented.
Physical Requirements
- This position involves sustained periods of sitting and keyboarding.
- Some light lifting may also be required.
Work Schedule
- Full time.
- Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.
- Required in office (no at-home days).
Pay
- This is a union position.
- The current pay for this position $35.43 an hour.
- The pay rate for this position is determined by the collective bargaining agreement and may be dependent on skills, education, experience and other business factors.
