Responsibilities

  • Sets up files for new applications
  • Data entry of new application information
  • Determines eligibility for and calculates monthly benefits of members
  • Communicates with members through writing & phone calls
  • Prepares meeting reports for the Board of Trustees
  • Processes pension checks, including the stuffing of envelopes, posting, and printing manual checks

Qualifications

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Be detail oriented with good mathematical and analytical skills
  • Be able to work well in a team environment
  • Have a customer satisfaction focus and team-oriented style
  • Have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (verbal/written)
  • Have proven problem solving ability
  • Have good multitasking, organizational, and time management skills
  • Be proficient in Excel and Word

Education and/or Experience

  • A high school diploma or GED and some college and/or job-related experience

Work Environment

  • The position operates in an office/clerical setting, using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines, etc.
  • The department can be fast paced.
  • Must be able to multi-task.
  • Must be detailed oriented.

Physical Requirements

  • This position involves sustained periods of sitting and keyboarding.
  • Some light lifting may also be required.

Work Schedule

  • Full time.
  • Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.
  • Required in office (no at-home days).

Pay

  • This is a union position.
  • The current pay for this position $35.43 an hour.
  • The pay rate for this position is determined by the collective bargaining agreement and may be dependent on skills, education, experience and other business factors.
