Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation Claims Supervisor (Remote)

About the role
This role supervises approximately seven Workers' Compensation adjusters handling Pennsylvania claims and is responsible for driving claim quality, technical excellence, employee development, and operational performance. The Supervisor serves as a trusted resource for adjusters, leadership, and business partners while ensuring compliance with Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation regulations and Corporate Claim Standards. The position combines leadership responsibilities with technical oversight, requiring a strong understanding of compensability analysis, litigation management, reserving practices, return-to-work strategies, and claim resolution.
Responsibilities
- Review, assign, and provide supervision of all claim activity for designated claims to ensure compliance with Corporate Claim Standards, client-specific handling instructions, and applicable laws.
- Investigate, evaluate, and adjust assigned claims in accordance with established claim handling standards and laws.
- Establish and/or oversee reserves for designated claims within established reserve authority levels.
- Provide oversight of medical, legal, damage estimates, and miscellaneous invoices to determine if reasonable and related to designated claims; negotiate disputed bills or invoices for resolution.
- Authorize and make payments of claims in accordance with claim procedures utilizing a claim payment program within industry standards and established payment authority.
- Negotiate settlements in accordance with Corporate Claim Standards, client-specific handling instructions, and state laws.
- Assist designated claim staff in the selection, referral, and supervision of designated claim files sent to outside vendors (e.g., legal, surveillance, case management).
- Direct handling of designated litigated and complex claims.
- Provide education, training, and assist in the development of claim staff.
- Maintain personal diary on claim system.
- Ensure compliance with Corporate Claim Handling Standards and special client handling instructions.
Requirements
- 10+ years of Workers' Compensation claims handling experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation laws, regulations, and claim handling practices.
- Prior supervisory, leadership, mentoring, or team lead experience.
- Experience handling claims from investigation through resolution.
- Strong understanding of:

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Reliable attendance during established business hours.
Nice to Have
- Prior supervisory or people-lead experience within Workers’ Compensation.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- AIC, CPCU, or ARM certification preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish) proficiency — highly valued for communicating with claimants, employers, or vendors.

Pay
Salary Range: $85,000 – $95,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based on qualifications, experience, geographic location, and internal equity. This role may also qualify for bonuses or additional forms of pay.
Schedule
Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
