Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others and support your team to reach common goals.
- Prepare special meals or substitute items.
- Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
- Pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator.
- Ensure proper portion, arrangement, and food garnish.
- Maintain food logs and monitor the quality and quantity of food prepared.
- Test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently.
- Communicate assistance needed during busy periods.
- Inform Chef of excess food items for use in daily specials.
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist.
- Inform Food & Beverage service staff of menu specials and out-of-stock menu items.
- Check and ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food.
- Prepare cold foods and serve food in proper portions onto proper receptacles.
- Wash and disinfect kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
- Adhere to departmental policies and procedures.
- Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating employees; serve as a role model.
- Follow all company and safety policies; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions.
- Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Anticipate and address guests’ service needs; speak with others using clear and professional language.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships; listen and respond appropriately to concerns of other employees.
- Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods; reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, and standing for long periods; comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of related work experience.
- Technical, trade, or vocational school degree or equivalent experience.
