ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Demonstrate proficiency in advanced cooking techniques, culinary methods, and a deep understanding of diverse cuisines.
• Contribute actively to menu planning, introducing innovative and sophisticated dishes while maintaining alignment with the resort's culinary vision.
• Provide leadership within the kitchen, guiding and mentoring junior cooks.
• Share knowledge, techniques, and best practices to enhance the skills of the culinary team.
• Ensure the highest standards of taste, presentation, and quality in all dishes.
• Oversee food preparation to maintain consistency and excellence.
• Play a key role in the efficient operation of the kitchen, including overseeing workstations, managing inventory, and coordinating with other kitchen staff.
• Exhibit quick and effective problem-solving skills to address challenges that may arise in a high-volume and fast-paced kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is usually required.
• Formal culinary education from a reputable culinary school or vocational training institute is often preferred.
• Previous experience as a Cook II or in a similar supervisory role is often required.
• Proven expertise in menu development, showcasing creativity and a deep understanding of diverse cuisines.
• Familiarity with standard kitchen equipment, cooking techniques, and safety practices.
• Previous Hotel or Resort experience desired.
