Pega Lead Systems Architect
Location: Irving, TX
Salary: $120,000.00 USD Annually - $125,000.00 USD Annually
Responsibilities
- Define the end-to-end application architecture following Pega’s best practices and guardrails.
- Design and develop responsive user interfaces using the Constellation framework, specifically utilizing Portals, Views, and out-of-the-box (OOTB) DX components.
- Experience in background processing rules like Agents, Listeners, Job Schedulers and Queue Processors.
- Define foundational architectural decisions across application layers, ruleset versions, reuse patterns, and guardrails that balance enterprise consistency with business unit autonomy.
- Stand up and maintain enterprise “golden paths” including templates, common components, and reusable assets.
- Implement and maintain Single Sign-On (SSO) integrations and enterprise identity alignment.
- Design and implement Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) standards (roles, access groups, privileges) across personas (developers, architects, tech leads, operations, business stakeholders, auditors).
- Build and evolve Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines with automated gates for promotion across environments.
- Define versioning/release strategy and enforce repeatable promotion patterns.
- Ensure security auditing and platform controls meet enterprise policies.
- Define the platform integration approach and reference architectures for common enterprise integrations including: AWS services such as S3, KMS, configuring internal APIs, and eventing patterns; establish governance mechanisms (design reviews, reuse intake, exceptions process).
- Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams using Agile methodologies.
- DevOps for Pega: pipeline-driven promotions, automated testing strategy.
- Lead a team of Pega developers/engineers across the delivery lifecycle: discovery, estimation, design, implementation, testing, release, and operations.
- Partner with product owners to scope and sequence work to deliver outcomes with speed and quality.
- Mentor engineers and influence engineering culture toward standardization, reliability, and automation-first execution.
- Quality/compliance gates, release controls, and repeatable deployment patterns.
- Production readiness: performance/scalability, resiliency patterns, logging/monitoring, operational runbooks, and incident management.
- Strong communication skills and ability to lead and mentor engineers.

- Must have technical/functional skills in Pega platform architecture, enterprise authentication/authorization, integration architecture, DevOps for Pega, and mentoring engineers.
