Responsibilities
- Providing recovery support services, as outlined in the service definition, to people that self-identify as being in or seeking recovery from substance use disorders.
- Uphold the culture, principles, and values of recovery in all aspects of services provided to individuals, family members, friends, and allies.
- Provide connections to local recovery communities within the ARSC, as well as treatment and recovery support services outside of the ARSC in the community.
- Provide peer support to persons who have experienced challenges with substance use or misuse in ARSC, at recovery events, meetings, and over the phone.
- Provide information and facilitate development of relationships with individuals, support/ mutual aid groups, and service providers when appropriate.
- Follow-up when peers agree.
- Manage boundaries in relationships and make adjustments in accordance with guidance provided by team leadership.
- Support families, friends, and allies.
- Provide support to families and allies of people that self-identify as being in recovery or who have challenges with substance use.
- Provide information and education about the recovery process to these individuals when appropriate.

- Implement programs.
- Aid Program Manager in the implementation of new services, meetings, workshops, community trainings, etc. based on feedback from Advisory Board and community.
- Record encounters and activities.
- Keep and maintain accurate and comprehensive records in accordance with guidance provided by team leadership including but not limited to Ones on ones, PCOMS, WRAP plans, etc.
- Check voicemail and respond to any peer requiring services. Including ASO submissions.
- Complete daily opening/closing cleaning duties and sign off on weekly sheet.
- Keep building clean and orderly; this may inlcude dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, grounds cleanup outside, and maintaining porches.
- Report any damage or maintenance issues to supervisor in a timely manor to ensure the sfaety of the building.
- Travel some travel required, primarily within area serviced by ARSC and for advocacy/recovery events within the state.
- A company vehicle is to be used if available.
- Reports to work as scheduled. Follows agency procedure for reporting absence. Notifies management two weeks in advance for any PTO requests.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- A valid Georgia Driver’s License.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Office applications.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Experience with having a mental health diagnosis, behavioral health diagnosis, or addiction recovery OR being a parent to a child with a diagnosis.
