Peer Support Specialist Supervisor - HS047

About the role

The Permanent Supportive Housing Peer Supervisor oversees the implementation and day to day operations of Peer Support services that are part of Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) services funded by the HUD PSH Continuum of Care program for adults and families experiencing unsheltered homelessness, most of whom have a disabling condition and a history of homelessness.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative oversight and supervision for Peer Support Specialists (PSS) assisting with housing placement and long-term housing retention services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness, with a focus on providing culturally specific services for Native Americans.
• Accompany PSS staff in the field as needed to support staff and housing participants.
• Ensure Housing First, Trauma-Informed Care, and Assertive Engagement principles are utilized in the delivery of services.
• Ensure compliance with grant and contract requirements, including reports and service documentation; conduct regular reviews of paper charts and electronic records; collaborate with the Housing Operations Supervisor to ensure timely and thorough data collection, and assist with regular reports as needed.
• Manage client assistance funds; review fund requests for approvals to ensure appropriate use of funds, and track spending of program funds.
• Collaborate extensively with community partners, property managers and other NARA NW programs to ensure positive relationships and access to resources for NARA NW clients.
• Work with the community to enlist support and feedback for the program.
• Provide consultation to PSS staff working with persons experiencing behavioral health crises; provide crisis assessment, management, and intervention as needed, in collaboration with the Program Manager.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory role, preferably in a behavioral health or social services setting.

Experience working with homeless populations, particularly those who are Native American, is preferred.

Knowledge of trauma-informed care and Housing First principles.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse teams.

Strong organizational and administrative skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Current CPR certification.

Ability to travel to various locations within the Portland area.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field such as social work, psychology, public health, or a related field.

Master's degree in a related field is preferred.

Current certification as a Peer Support Specialist.

Pay

$68,250.00 - $78,750.00 per year, Exempt, Salary.

Schedule

This is an In-person position, Monday through Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm.
