About the role
Serenity House is a 13-bed, short-term intensive Crisis Residential Treatment (CRT) program serving adult residents of San Mateo County who are experiencing a mental health crisis. The program operates 24-hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. Clients may be referred from the hospital, jail, community, or self-referred. The goal is to help clients experiencing acute psychiatric distress avoid inpatient hospitalization and emergency services, regain stability, and begin working toward longer-term recovery goals.
Responsibilities
- Engage, inspire, and facilitate meaningful conversations with members to assist them in exploring, creating, and meeting their own recovery goals.
- Provide consultation to the team to promote and reinforce Telecare’s Recovery Culture as defined by the Telecare Recovery Centered Clinical System (RCCS), ensuring each member’s point of view and preferences are recognized, understood, respected, and integrated into services and self-help programming.
- Respond to critical situations with high-level engagement and de-escalation skills to support a least restrictive environment for individuals experiencing emergencies related to mental health or addiction challenges.
- Use the company vehicle to drive clients to appointments, groups, and other activities as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Peer Certification must be maintained throughout employment. California: Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification through CalMHSA must be obtained within 120 days of hire and maintained. Failure to obtain certification within this period will result in separation from the company.
- Experience as a beneficiary of the Behavioral Health system of care.
- Valid and current driver’s license, and personal vehicle insurance with your name listed as a driver.
- Willingness to use the company vehicle to transport clients.
Schedule
- Short-Hour .4 PM Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, Friday - Saturday.
- Shift differentials for hourly staff: 6% for PM Shift, 10% for NOC Shift.
- Weekend shift differentials for hourly staff: 5% for Weekend AM Shift, 11% for Weekend PM Shift, 15% for Weekend NOC Shift.
Pay
Expected starting wage range is $23.00 - $25.76. Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges based on the location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements.
