Responsibilities
- Engage, inspire, and facilitate meaningful conversations with members served to help them explore, create, and meet their recovery goals.
- Provide consultation to the team to promote and reinforce Telecare’s Recovery Culture, recognizing, understanding, respecting, and integrating each member’s point of view and preferences into services and self-help programming.
- Respond to critical situations with high-level engagement and de-escalation skills to support a least restrictive environment for individuals experiencing emergencies related to mental health or addiction challenges.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Peer Certification must be maintained throughout employment within 90 days after date of hire.
- California: obtain Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification through CalMHSA prior to date of hire and maintain throughout employment.
- Experience as a beneficiary of the Behavioral Health system of care.
- Valid and current driver’s license, and personal vehicle insurance with your name listed as a driver.
- Willingness to use the company vehicle to drive clients to appointments and groups, etc.
Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a valid California driver’s license and personal vehicle insurance with your name listed as a driver.
- Must have experience as a beneficiary of the Behavioral Health system of care.
- Must have a peer certification and maintain it throughout employment.
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of mental health and addiction issues.
- De-escalation and crisis intervention skills.

Pay
Expected starting wage range is $23.00 - $25.76. Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements.
