About the role
Lighthouse MI is a growing non-profit established in 2019, combining resources from Lighthouse of Oakland County and South Oakland Shelter to address poverty in Metro Detroit. Lighthouse offers emergency assistance, housing programs, and supportive services to promote long-term economic stability. They own and operate Spero Housing Group, a subsidiary focused on affordable housing, and HandUp, a community and crowdfunding platform.
Responsibilities
- Build trust with clients
- Aid clients in achieving personal goals
- Provide recovery materials and resources to family and support systems
- Teach life and recovery skills, and model coping strategies
- Attend community meetings and report on program success
- Meet with Program Manager/Team for supervision
- Collaborate with case management team for updates and resources
- Document services provided according to Lighthouse policies
- Perform additional outreach in the community
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Peer Certification
- Experience working with individuals who have lived experience of homelessness, mental illness, substance use disorder, and recovery
- Strong work ethic and ability to professionally represent Lighthouse
