Responsibilities
- Offer peer support and promote self-advocacy among youth and adults
- Aid individuals in connecting with community resources and services
- Collaborate with providers, families, and care teams to support comprehensive care
- Encourage recovery, resiliency, and empowerment through peer mentorship
- Document services in accordance with program standards
- Complete additional tasks as directed by supervisor
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required
- New York State Youth Peer Advocate or Certified Peer Specialist certification (training and credentialing support available for qualified candidates)
- Lived experience with mental health, recovery, or system involvement is strongly encouraged
- Strong communication and teamwork skills are necessary
- The ability to engage, motivate, and support both youth and adults is important
- Bilingual skills are preferred
