Peer Specialist- Core

About the role

Ohel’s Core Program is looking for Peer Specialists. Peer Specialists are individuals who are able to use their lived experiences to work one-on-one with adults with behavioral health needs who live at home in your community. Peer staff will work on specific goals including but not limited to helping the individual understand their triggers, coping skills and socialization. Peer certification required. Part-time positions available in Brooklyn.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one with adults with behavioral health needs who live at home in your community
• Help the individual understand their triggers
• Help the individual develop coping skills
• Help the individual improve socialization

Requirements

• Peer certification required

Qualifications

• Experience living with behavioral health needs
• Lived experience can be used to support others

Skills

• Strong communication skills
• Ability to build rapport and trust
