About the role
The Peer Support Specialist must have previous life experience with substance use and be in active recovery.
Responsibilities
- Provide quality services that facilitate recovery and wellness for people living with substance use concerns.
- Services are client-centered, delivered in the home/community, and include case management, support, and sharing of personal history with and knowledge of substance use and mental health recovery.
- Achieve positive outcomes through purposeful and respectful relationships rooted in trauma-informed care, hope, and evidence-based research.
Requirements
- Proven ability to address the recovery needs of individuals.
- Proven ability to share personal recovery journey in a supportive way, even if the recovery path is different from that of the client.
- Valid Driver’s License, current auto insurance, and clean driving history.
- Current certification as a Peer Recovery Coach or ability to pursue the certification.
