Peer Mentor

Peer Mentors help young adults attending Transitions navigate their college experience. They guide students through their post-high school journeys and support them to achieve success in higher education, careers, and learning to live independently.

Responsibilities

• Support young adults in navigating their college experience
• Guide students through post-high school transitions
• Help students achieve success in higher education, careers, and independent living

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED is required
• Enrolled in a College course or a recent college graduate is preferred
• Valid NYS Driver's license with 2 years' experience is required

Pay

A Peer Mentor can earn between $19.12 - $22.64 per hour.

Schedule

• Unique shifts allowing for up to 40 hours within three days
• Shift options: Thursday - Saturday, or Saturday - Tuesday
• Live-in, day, evening, and weekend shifts available
• Both full-time and part-time positions available

Transitions is part of The Arc Lexington, with campuses in Mayfield (Fulton County), Cobleskill, and Albany. It focuses on building academic skills, life and career skills, and general independence for high school graduates and young adults with autism spectrum disorders and/or other learning disabilities.
