Peer Counselor - Providence Crisis Stabilization Center

About the role

The Peer Support Specialist provides flexible, community/program-based peer support services designed to promote recovery, empowerment, and community integration for individuals with severe behavioral health and/or substance use disorder challenges.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate opportunities for individuals to direct their own recovery and advocacy process.
• Teach and support the development and utilization of skills needed for recovery.
• Promote awareness of available service options and choices, and encourage the utilization of natural resources in the community.
• Help develop a sense of wellness and self-worth among individuals served.

Requirements

• Certified Peer Specialist.
• Experience in recovery for a minimum of 2 years.
• Driving may be necessary as part of this role.

Schedule

Multiple shifts available, including Full time, 1.0 FTE, Day and Evening shift, 40 hours per week, and Part time, 0.8 FTE, Day and Evening shift, 32 hours per week.
