About the role

Hanger, Inc., a leading provider of orthotic and prosthetic (O&P) services and products, is seeking a Pedorthist to join their team in Ocala, Florida. The ideal candidate will work in a collaborative environment, providing comprehensive pedorthic care to patients of all ages, with a primary focus on the geriatric community.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with physicians in evaluating and recommending pedorthic services based on patient needs.
  • Evaluate and formulate design of pedorthic devices, selecting appropriate materials and making measurements.
  • Perform fitting procedures, ensuring proper alignment and functionality of pedorthic devices.
  • Instruct patients on the use of pedorthic devices and monitor their progress.
  • Evaluate and address issues related to pedorthic devices and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
  • Provide follow-up care and report findings to physicians and case managers.
  • Mentor newly certified clinicians and assist other clinical staff.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of business relationships with referral sources.
  • Participate in strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets.
  • Prepare detailed clinical notes for patient records.

Requirements

  • Current board certification in Pedorthics from the American Board for Certification (ABC) or the Board of Certification (BOC).
  • A valid driver’s license and driving record meeting Hanger’s standards.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain state licensure if required.
  • At least 5 years of past experience in providing prosthetic and/or orthotic services under the supervision of a certified clinician (for candidates not certified or board-eligible).

  • Strong clinical and technical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for pedorthic care.

Skills

  • Knowledge of pedorthic principles and practices.
  • Experience with fitting and adjusting pedorthic devices.
  • Ability to work effectively with patients and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
