Job Duties
- Provide age-appropriate care for one or more of the following age groups routinely: Neonate, Infant, Child, Adolescent, Adult.
- Collect and evaluate health assessment data to provide appropriate palliative interventions.
- Consistently demonstrate effective communication skills and work to eliminate communication barriers.
- Participate in departmental quality, education and safety initiatives on an ongoing basis.
- Consistently seek and apply new knowledge relevant to nursing to clinical practice.
- Demonstrate current professional, managerial, and/or technical knowledge and skills.
- Demonstrate NP role behaviors consistent with the development of advanced nursing practice.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master of Science in Nursing
- Advanced Practitioner Registered Nurse license from the Texas Board of Nursing. License may be Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP), Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (ACPNP), or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP).
- Specialty certification recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing. Specialty certification must match licensing specialty area. (For example, a Nurse Practitioner with an ACUTE CARE PEDIATRIC NURSE PRACTITIONER (ACPNP) license from the Texas Board of Nursing must also have an ACPNP certification.)
- A minimum of five (5) years of RN experience providing care in a hospital, outpatient or hospice setting to chronic, complex patients or patients nearing end-of-life.
- Pediatric or Family Nurse Practitioner with 5 years of experience as a nurse practitioner.
- Palliative care experience with the ability and comfort of inpatient/outpatient patient care.
