Pediatric Trauma Medical Director

About the role

We are recruiting for a mission-driven Pediatric Trauma Medical Director to join our team at Denver Health. Responsibilities

• Examine young patients and diagnosing health issues for surgery.
• Order preoperative tests and physical examinations and interpreting results.
• Consult with patients and family members regarding diagnosis and treatment options.
• Perform surgical procedures to correct deformations, congenital problems, injuries, or treat illnesses.
• Collaborate and cooperate with all the specialists involved in a child's medical care to determine when or if surgery is an appropriate treatment option.
• Maintain the full development of the trauma center in terms of quality of care, volume, scope of services and cost-effectiveness, education, research, and organize and manage the overall physician/surgeon component of the trauma service.
• Responsible for all aspects and administration of Pediatric LVL II trauma program at Denver Health.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have a Doctorate Degree in Medicine from an accredited institution. They must hold an MD-Physician license from the State Medical Board, BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) from the AHA - American Heart Association, and PALS-Pediatric Advanced Life Support from the AHA - American Heart Association.

Qualifications

Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures and techniques. Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment. Ability to effectively manage and direct medical staff support activities while providing quality medical care. Excellent written and verbal communications, listening, and social skills. Able to interact effectively with people of varied educational, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds, skill levels and value systems. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Computer skills required.
