About the role
The Pediatric Surgeon will provide compassionate, high-quality care while practicing within the scope of their training, licensure, and credentials. This physician will collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve exceptional outcomes for patients and families.
Responsibilities
- Practice medicine within the scope of licensure, training, and credentialing.
- Provide care consistent with established standards of care and quality guidelines.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care appropriate to the age and developmental needs of the patient.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice clinicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: MD or DO from an accredited School of Medicine
- Completion of an accredited fellowship program in Pediatric Surgery
- Credentials: Licensed or eligible for licensure as a physician in the State of Oregon; Board Certified or Board Eligible (must achieve certification within five years of training completion)
- DEA registration
- Current CPR certification

- Demonstrated expertise in the clinical management of pediatric surgical patients
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education
- Able to meet department-specific training requirements
- Able to work varied hours, including on-call and callback responsibilities
- Must not be excluded from participation in Medicare or Medicaid programs
Working Conditions
- Physical Requirements: Patient handling up to 35 lbs. without assistive devices; Fine motor skills necessary to perform surgical and procedural duties; Ability to perform CPR requiring 100–125 lbs. of force; Frequent sitting, standing, and walking; Occasional bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting
- Environmental Conditions: Exposure to biohazardous materials, body fluids, and airborne particles; Hospital and clinical care environment
- Mental & Visual Requirements: Vision and hearing sufficient to perform essential job functions (corrective devices permitted); Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information effectively
