About the role

UF Health Therapists provide rehabilitation services in the Acute setting, focusing on creating and customizing treatment plans for conditions that limit a patient's ability to move, be active, communicate, swallow, and perform daily tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Create and customize treatment plans for patients with various conditions affecting their mobility, communication, swallowing, and daily activities.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address cognitive and psychosocial aspects of care.
  • Maximize physical performance while achieving optimal functional outcomes.
  • Work in units including general pediatrics, NICU, PICU, and PCICU at UF Health Shands Children's Hospital in the North Tower.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher as designated by professional license.
  • Experience or fieldwork in the acute setting preferred.
  • Inpatient/outpatient pediatric feeding/swallowing experience preferred (ages 0-18).
  • Pediatric MBS/FEES experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with others.
