Position Summary

The University of Florida, Department of Pediatrics Pulmonary Division has a faculty position opening in the non-tenure track at the level of Clinical Assistant / Associate / Professor. The pulmonary division provides the full spectrum of tertiary care in all areas of pediatric pulmonary medicine including cystic fibrosis, asthma, sleep medicine, diagnostic bronchoscope and lung function testing with strong credentials in asthma research. The division has accredited fellowship training programs in both pediatric pulmonary and sleep medicine.

About the Role

The Department of Pediatrics clinical services are delivered at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital, which was named the #1 Children’s Hospital in Florida in the 2022-23 U.S. News & World Report rankings. Nationally ranked in five pediatric specialties, UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital provides the full spectrum of pediatric specialty services and is in the Top 5 children’s hospital in the Southeast US. The children’s hospital has 208 beds, including fully-equipped pediatric and neonatal intensive care units. UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital represents the only quaternary-care academic pediatric center in North Florida.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care for patients with pediatric pulmonary conditions
  • Participate in clinical research related to asthma and other respiratory diseases
  • Teach medical students, residents, and fellows in the Department of Pediatrics
  • Contribute to the educational mission of the Department of Pediatrics through teaching and mentorship
  • Collaborate with colleagues in other departments and institutes to advance interdisciplinary research and clinical care

Requirements

  • M.D. degree or equivalent, licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Florida
  • Board certification or eligibility in pediatrics
  • Strong credentials in asthma research

Qualifications

  • Experience in providing comprehensive care for pediatric pulmonary conditions
  • Ability to teach medical students, residents, and fellows
  • Interest in conducting clinical and translational research

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
