About the role
This role provides therapy to patients based on patient need and medical direction. It includes providing patient/caregiver education and arranging for adaptive equipment as needed. The primary focus is on pediatrics but opportunities exist to work with other patient populations.
Responsibilities
- Performs evaluation procedures to assess the level of disability and make appropriate recommendations.
- Develops and implements a treatment program to restore and return maximal function to the patient.
- Affirms the effectiveness of treatment and modifies goals and treatment methods as necessary.
- Trains other rehabilitation staff, nursing, medical personnel, and students about patient needs and rehabilitation services.
- Participates in ongoing process improvement, patient satisfaction initiatives, program development, and marketing activities.
- Maintains productivity as per department standards.
- Improves skill areas through continuing education, participation in competencies, and development of new patient care concepts.
Requirements
- Required: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from an accredited physical therapy program.
- PREFERRED: Master's Degree.
- RECOMMENDED: 6 months of relevant experience.
- LIC-Physical Therapist - State of Michigan upon hire required.
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA or ARC required within 90 days.
- CRT-Abdomen (AB) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Spectrum Health Lakeland Upon Hire required OR
- CRT-Ob/Gyn (OB) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Spectrum Health Lakeland Upon Hire required OR
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Spectrum Health Lakeland 90 Days required OR
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Spectrum Health Lakeland 90 Days required.
Qualifications
- Required: Physical Therapist License in the State of Michigan.
- Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC.
- Required: Abdominal (AB) or Ob/Gyn (OB) certification from ARDMS.

$20.00 - $25.00 per hour, up to $15,000 in incentives for eligible candidates.
Schedule
40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
