STEPS for Kids is seeking a part-time physical therapist to work 6–30 hours per week, with the opportunity to build the caseload to a full-time position (40 hours per week). The person we choose to fill this position will be energetic, compassionate and playful.

About STEPS for Kids

Founded in 2010, STEPS for Kids is a therapist owned and operated pediatric clinic providing developmental services utilizing a strengths-based and family centered approach. Our programs use a coordinated treatment approach that is neurodiversity affirming and trauma-informed, while focusing on play-based interventions, parent education, and building relationships that support lifelong growth for children.

Requirements

  • Ability to work with ages birth through adolescence, with a range of diagnoses including neurodevelopmental, neurological and orthopedic conditions.
  • Ability to work with children who have varied levels of cognition and communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adaptable to all audiences
  • Compassion and dedication to working in pediatrics
  • Flexible and motivated for problem solving
  • Able to work equally well independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Commitment to professional and personal development
  • Competency in evaluations, care planning, documentation and treatment planning for pediatric population
  • State of Illinois Physical Therapist license in good standing
