About the Role
Kay 5 supports patients diagnosed with solid tumors or neuro-oncology disorders. Be part of groundbreaking cell therapies or antibody infusions that work to improve outcomes in this patient population. Kay 5 is a 17-bed unit offering small nurse-to-patient ratios. This is a night shift position seeking nurses with at least one year of experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide the highest quality of care to pediatric patients with cancer, sickle cell, and other life-threatening diseases.
- Collaborate with leading scientists in a bench-to-bedside environment.
- Perform intermediate pediatric assessments, critical thinking, and pain assessments.
- Apply strong knowledge of research protocols and age-specific care principles.
- Assess and interpret age-specific data about patient status.
- Utilize strong clinical nursing, interpersonal, and patient education skills.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN required).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Minimum of 18 months of clinical nursing experience.
- St. Jude or other RN experience required.
- Experience in pediatric or oncology nursing.
- Must possess a current Tennessee State Board of Nursing license if primary residence is Tennessee or a non-Compact state.
- Must possess a current State Board of Nursing license in the state of primary residence if the state is a Nurse Licensure Compact state.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Pediatric Hematology Oncology Nurse (CPHON).
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN).
Pay
A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $31.50 - $55.00 per hour for this role.
