About the role
As a Pediatric Occupational Therapist (OT) at Blue Bird Day, you will provide occupational therapy to children ages 2-7 years old with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, sensory processing disorder, and other neurodiverse needs. You'll foster each child's sensory processing and integration, motor coordination, fine motor development, and independence through:
- Providing individualized and group therapy
- Implementing client-centered therapeutic approaches such as DIR/Floortime, Intentional Relationship Model (IRM), and reflex integration
- Collaborating daily with physical and speech therapists, and social workers
- Documenting progress and communicating with families to support continuity of care
Responsibilities
- Provide evidence-based, play-focused pediatric therapy
- Foster each child's sensory processing and integration, motor coordination, fine motor development, and independence

Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must have:
- A Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current Illinois Occupational Therapy license
- Experience working with children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, sensory processing disorder, and other neurodiverse needs
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to document progress and communicate effectively with families
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- At least 2 years of experience in a clinic-based setting
- Experience with DIR/Floortime, Intentional Relationship Model (IRM), and reflex integration
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Passion for working with children and a commitment to evidence-based practice
