Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, Urgent Care

About the role

The Urgent Care Advanced Practice Provider (APP) at Nemours Children's Health will provide direct and indirect care to patients and their families in an Urgent Care setting. This role requires working weekend days and weekday nights.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare providers to provide high-quality health care to children.
• Performs appropriate assessments of patients and families upon referral or admission, documenting history and physical exam data.
• Ongoing assessment and evaluation of patient progress, revising the interdisciplinary plan of care as necessary.
• May use prescriptive authority if credentialed.
• Collaborates interprofessionally as needed.
• Identifies patient and family needs for further resources and initiates appropriate referrals.
• Documents patient care and progress in the patient's chart.
• Provides patient and family teaching based on identified learning needs.

Qualifications

• Excellent written, phone, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to function at a high level in an interprofessional team environment as well as an independent provider.
• 3-5 years of Advanced Practice Provider experience in the ED or Urgent Care setting preferred.
