About the role

The Urgent Care Advanced Practice Provider (APP) at Nemours Children's Health will provide direct and indirect care to patients and their families in an Urgent Care setting. This role will function independently and collaboratively to provide medical care for patients from 0 through 20 years old. The provider will work weekend days and weekday nights.

Responsibilities

  • Collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare providers, provide high-quality health care to children.
  • Perform appropriate assessments of patients/families upon referral/admission and document history and physical exam data.
  • Ongoing assessment and evaluation of patient progress, revising the interdisciplinary plan of care as necessary.
  • May use prescriptive authority if credentialed.
  • Collaborate interprofessionally as needed.
  • Identify patient/family needs for further resources and initiate appropriate referrals.
  • Document patient care and progress in the patient's chart.
  • Provide patient/family teaching based on identified learning needs.

Qualifications

  • Excellent written, phone, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to function at a high level in an interprofessional team environment as well as an independent provider.
  • PNP: Active Pennsylvania and Delaware Registered Nurse Licensure, Active unrestricted Pennsylvania and Delaware Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner Licensure; Pennsylvania and Delaware Prescriptive Authority; Pennsylvania and Delaware Federal DEA; Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Certification via National Certification Center.
  • PA-C: Current unrestricted Physician Assistant License to practice in the state of Pennsylvania and Delaware; National Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants; Pennsylvania and Delaware Prescriptive Authority; Pennsylvania and Delaware Federal DEA.
  • 3-5 years of Advanced Practice Provider experience in the ED or Urgent Care setting strongly preferred.
